A Meditation
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about ways we can break something as rigid as a book out of its casing and share the meaning inside it with each other through new and different mediums.
I humbly submit my first attempt:
I just made a series of audio meditations around the themes of my book, The Forgotten Art of Being Ordinary. Think, “mini mindful podcasts.”
Each meditation includes original music (beautifully composed by my friend David Wilton of A Boy and His Kite) and is meant to help ground us in the gift of our humanity in an era of digital distractions.
I’ll be dropping new meditations over the next several weeks, each one tied to a chapter from the book. You can listen to the first one right now called “Branding is for Cows. Belonging is for People.”
Feel free to listen to these meditations while walking, running, driving, or simply sitting still. Regardless, I hope you’ll take a few moments to enjoy, reconnect, and remember the miraculous phenomenon of being an ordinary human.
PS. You don’t have to read the book to do these meditations but like a good jazz album and an old fashioned, they do work best when paired. If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, get it here.
